Integrations

Integrations connect PLC4X to other systems: data-processing frameworks, message brokers, databases and digital-twin platforms.

They fall into two groups, depending on who maintains them.

Maintained by PLC4X

These live in the plc4x-extras repository and are released together with PLC4X.

Integration	Description
Apache Calcite	Exposes the tags of an Event-Pump configuration as SQL tables, so PLC data can be queried over JDBC.
Apache Kafka	Kafka Connect source and sink connectors that stream PLC data into Kafka topics and write values back to devices.
Apache NiFi	`Source` and `Sink` processors for building NiFi data-flows on top of PLC4X.

The following integrations use PLC4X but are developed and released by the respective projects. Their own documentation is the authoritative source.

Apache Camel	A Camel component for reading from and writing to PLCs inside Camel routes.
Apache IoTDB	Storing PLC data collected with PLC4X as time-series data in Apache IoTDB.
Apache StreamPipes	PLC4X-based S7 and Modbus adapters for the StreamPipes IIoT connectors.
Eclipse Ditto	Feeding PLC data into the digital twins managed by Eclipse Ditto.
