Apache PLC4X is an effort to create a set of libraries for communicating with industrial grade programmable logic controllers (PLCs) in a uniform way.

[Eclipse Ditto](https://eclipse.dev/ditto/) - "… where IoT devices and their digital twins get together" - manages the digital twins of IoT devices.

PLC4X can be used to feed such a twin with live data from a PLC.

This integration is maintained by the Eclipse Ditto project. A complete example is available in their examples repository: [ditto-examples / plc4x](https://github.com/eclipse-ditto/ditto-examples/tree/master/plc4x).
